Senior Support Engineer

Location: Flexible (OpenLogic is based in Broomfield, Colorado)

Position Overview
OpenLogic is seeking a talented and experienced software professional to join its dynamic support team in the role of Senior Support Engineer. The successful candidate is expected to live and breathe Java and open source projects and help solve a variety of technical challenges faced by customers using open source software.

Responsibilities
This position will involve strategy, planning and hands-on execution.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a Java J2EE expert that is driven by solving interesting and unique challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge/skills and demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and deploying complex infrastructure, web-based software and enterprise software as well as a methodical approach to root cause analysis. Experience in the design and use of open source software and in development on multiple operating systems are both required. Excellent communication and writing skills are essential.

Experience in several of the following is required:

Requires BS in Computer Science or related field. Candidate should have at least 5 years software development experience, 3 years of Java/J2EE/JBoss experience. A background in other programming languages (Ruby/Rails) and open source projects is highly desirable. Open source project and community participation, particularly with J2EE projects is highly desirable. Committership on JBoss, Tomcat, Hibernate, Spring, Apache, and/or Geronimo is a huge plus.
